Strategies:
As with the skeletal miner, this pickaxe has a different form when no one is nearby: it appears on the floor as a dropped Steel pickaxe when you into its "range" it becomes a yellow dot. However, you'll notice that the Text says take 'Iron pickaxe' so that's the only obvious giveaway. (Note: This is only in the Haunted Mines.)
The Possessed Pickaxes in the Chaos Tunnels are steel and always animated.
